Louise Riis Andersen

Advisory Board Member

Dr. Louise Riis Andersen is a senior analyst at the Danish Institute for International Studies in Copenhagen.

Prior to joining Danish Institute for International Studies, she worked as a carrier diplomat in the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Drawing on her policy background, her research explores the ways in which the international community perceives and responds to crisis in the global periphery.
With a focus on UN-led peace operations in Sub-Saharan Africa she deals with questions related to global governance, the nexus between security and development, and the dilemmas of post-conflict statebuilding. A large part of her work deals with the challenges of using SSR as a tool for both transformation and stabilisation.
She is co-editor of Fragile States and Insecure People (2007, Palgrave-Macmillan). Her most recent articles have been published in journals such as Conflict, Security and Development, Journal of Intervention and Statebuilding and Forum for Development Studies.
